Wink was born April 22, 1931, to Edward and Ruth Smolinski in Orofino. In 1964, Wink met Jerry Tolonen while they both worked at Blount in Lewiston.
She grew up in the Fraser area and graduated from Weippe High School in 1949. They married in late 1965 and had a daughter in 1967. Most recently, she spent a lot of her time with Pat running around town and traveling the area, including visits to Weippe.
Ed enjoyed coaching his son and other young men in Babe Ruth baseball.
His joy in watching his son compete in sports was matched only by later watching his grandchildren.
Wink passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 16, 2018, just three weeks after her 87th birthday party and celebration and two days after spending Mother's Day with her children and close friend, Pat Cane.Ed is survived by his wife of 42 years, Diane Driskill; his sister, Dee Driskill, and her husband, Peter, of Gig Harbor, WA; his brother, Darrell (Charlene) Driskill of Arvada, Colo.CO; and his son, Ed (Kelly) of Moscow, and their four children, Ava, Jack, Jemma and Henry.He also is survived by his three children from his first marriage, Allison, Spencer and Michelle, and numerous grandchildren. Monday at Mountain View Funeral Home in the Lewiston Orchards.
